For me, wildlife and nature photography is a spiritual journey. Immersing myself into its living force, I am both awed and humbled by nature's grace and harmony. Its poetry is ever-changing with seasons and time, but its wisdom is constant. Nature has a voice, and we must remain still to hear it. Listen with reverence. Remember that wildlife and wilderness are gifts, and we must aspire to honor, respect and protect them. By becoming good stewards of our Earth, including its non-human inhabitants, our hearts, too, might be healed. Come follow me into the heart of the woods, and I will share its beauty, its rhythms and its magic, with hope that it touches your heart, too. ~ Trish
“The breezes at dawn have secrets to tell you. Don't go back to sleep!" - Rumi
"When despair for the world grows in me and I wake in the night at the least sound in fear of what my life and my children's lives may be, I go and lie down where the wood drake rests in his beauty in the water, and the great heron feeds. I come in peace of wild things who do not tax their lives with forethought of grief. I come into the presence of still water. And I feel above me the day-blind stars waiting with their light. For a time I rest in the grace of the world, and I am free." - Wendell Berry
"Winter is an etching, spring a watercolor, summer an oil painting and autumn a mosaic of them all." – Stanley Horowitz.
"The very idea of a bird is a symbol and a suggestion to a poet. A bird seems to be at the top of the scale, so vehement and intense his life. How many human aspirations are realized in their free, holiday-lives ~ and how many suggestions to the poet in their flight and song!" - John Burroughs, Birds and Poets, 1887
"Let us create peace by our thoughts and our actions. Then let us share this peace with the birds in the air, the creatures of the sea, and all who dwell upon the earth. For all life is interconnected. The smallest is no less precious than the largest." - Unknown
"The lives of animals are woven into our very being, and our souls will suffer when they are gone."
Rev. Gary Kowalski 'The Souls of Animals'
"Until we live our prayers for peace and freedom by granting peace and freedom to those who are vulnerable in our hands, we will find neither peace nor freedom."
